This month in your PARP adventure, you are in Mexico!

Want to learn a little bit about our country?

Mexico is a country below the U.S.

They speak mostly Spanish.

Mexico is very hot.

It doesn't snow there.

The people in Mexico love soccer. It's like baseball here.

Kids go to school for 5 hours a day.

Half the day they learn in Spanish.

The other half they learn in English.

Halfway through the day, they take naps.

This is called a Siesta.

cinco de mayoA holiday in Mexico is Cinco de Mayo. Cinco de Mayo means May 5th. It is similar to our July 4th except May 5th is not the day they gained independence. May 5th is the day the Mexican army beat the French army in a big battle. To celebrate Cinco de Mayo, The Mexicans have a Fiesta, or party. They bring lots of food and play lots of games. They also hang up decorations.
